What is a Molding

Molding is a strip material, most commonly wood but sometimes plastic or stone, designed for use as a decorative or architectural feature to a building or piece of furniture. In cabinetry, molding is typically made of wood or MDF.

Molding is a general term used to refer to trims placed to accentuate or decorate the existing architecture or design of a room. Molding is used to add a decorative finishing touch to a project. For example, Crown molding in between the walls and ceiling of a room add a depth and texture to a room. Molding is also commonly used on windows and doors to cover gaps and help maintain a proper seal around the door / window.
