What is Full Lap Overlay?

Full lap overlay is a style of cabinet door that covers all or nearly all of the front edge of the cabinet. This design is typically used for doors at the end of a cabinet. Full overlay cabinets provide more of a custom look than traditional overlay cabinets. These doors require cabinet hardware because there is minimal space between doors and drawers which can be difficult to open. Traditional overlay cabinets, conversely, do not require hardware because there is enough space on the side of the cabinet door or drawer face to open with your fingers.
