What is a Wood Filler

Wood filler is used to repair chips, scratches, gouges or other nicks and dings on the surface of a wood cabinet, trim or furniture. Sometimes referred to as wood putty, wood filler could come stainable or in various colors to match the cabinet color it's being applied on. In order to apply wood filler to your kitchen cabinets, you would need a putty knife, sandpaper, sealer and then the matching paint or stain. After applying the wood filler with a putty knife, it is then sanded down after it hardens to blend in smooth with the rest of the cabinet. Sealer is then applied to the wood filler before it is eventually painted or stained.
