What is a Wainscot Panel

Wainscoting is a type of wood panel that is used to cover up the lower half of a wall. The frame is composed of four pieces, the top and bottom rail, as well as the two side stiles. Wainscoting could be used in the kitchen or bathroom to prevent or cover up water damage. It could also be simply used for aesthetic purposes. Sometimes, wainscoting is referred to as beadboarding which is also in kitchens and bathrooms. The main distinction between beadboarding and wainscoting is thatbeadboarding is a row of narrow wood planks lined up vertically with a ridge or bead in between them.
