What is a Slab Door

Slab cabinet doors refer to flat cabinet doors. As opposed to Shaker Style Cabinets, which feature a raised panel design on the door, slab cabinets are flat

throughout the entirety of the door. Slab doors could be constructed many ways, but one of the overarching themes is that slab doors are simply one solid slab--they have no frames. The types of slab doors include solid wood doors, class-A furniture grade hardwood, and MDF particle board. Solid hardwood is typically the most expensive, followed by furniture grade plywood and then MDF particle board. Slab doors are often used in contemporary design because of the smooth and clean look they provide.
