What is a Red Birch Wood

Red birch wood is typically used for flooring and cabinetry. It is very close to white birch since it comes from the same tree. Red birch is the heartwood and white birch is the sapwood. Natural birch, as a comparison, has both sap and heat mixed into it. Red birch has a natural cherry red color, which is where it gets its name. It does accept stain and its natural color does not darken when its been exposed to sunlight. Red birch provides a great looking finish but does warp easily and is expensive compared to other suitable wood alternatives.
