What is a Knockout

A knockout is a term used to describe any component of a cabinet that is intended to be removed or cutout during installation. Most commonly, a knockout is strategically left in place to protect things like electrical wire harnesses. Essentially, a knockout is any pre-scored opening which can be removed to accommodate a variety of cables, connectors, harnesses, etc. The use of a knockout gives cabinet makers more flexibility and the consumer can often customize the knockout piece to their likings, giving more options for consumers, too.
