What is a Base Cabinet

Base cabinets are designed to sit on the floor and under a countertop in your bathroom or kitchen. Floor cabinets in both rooms are referred to as base cabinets, although construction is different depending on the application. In both instances, base cabinets are considered permanent and attach to the studs on the back walls. In the

bathroom, faux drawers may be used to help conceal plumbing inside the cabinet. In the kitchen, typical base cabinet depth is 24" and includes drawers and sometimes cupboards to maximize storage space. In most cases, base cabinets also have legs that are covered by a long strip of wood called a toe kick.
